Harts PK-8 will have a Sports Banquet tonight, May 25, to recognize athletes. The event will begin at 5pm with refreshments.

Reminder! For athletes in grades 6-8
This afternoon, around 12:30, an individual entered Harts PK-8. The building was immediately put on lockdown and law enforcement were called. The individual was contained in the school’s administrative office, and did not enter any other part of the building. After arriving on site at the school, law enforcement removed the individual from the building. All students and staff are safe. The lockdown has been lifted, and class has returned to normal. We would like to the thank the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and the Harts PK-8 staff for their quick response.
We are seeking community input regarding the district practice of recognizing students for their achievement and growth on the i-Ready diagnostic assessment used at three points in time during the school year. A big thank you to Mobile Agriculture Education Science Lab for coming to school yesterday and teaching our students about earth worms. Kindergarten and First Grade especially liked the activity.
Attention 7th and 8th grade parents:
Donuts will be available for pickup tomorrow, April 13, at the library doors from 12-2:00pm and from
3:00-5:00pm.
From 2:00-3:00 we will not be able to distribute donuts due to dismissal.
We would like to thank the Mobile Agriculture Education Science Lab for coming to Harts Pk-8 this week. The students are really enjoying learning about WV and its agriculture.
All students need to bring their iPads AND chargers to school tomorrow, April 4. iPads and chargers will be kept at school for the remainder of the year.
Attention 7th and 8th grade students: donut money and orders are due tomorrow, April 4.
Attention PK-5 parents/guardians:
Due to the weather forecast all egg hunts will be on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
Please send donations of eggs and stuffers tomorrow, April 4, 2023. If you would rather send a donation of money please send that to our PTO and Gina Manns will purchase candy/eggs.
Please send students with a bag or a basket to collect eggs on Wednesday.

If your child sold Little Caesar's Pizza Kits they will be available to pick up tomorrow, March 20, from 3:00-5:00pm in the Library.
There will be no afterschool at Harts PK-8 or at Big Ugly Community Center today, March 14, 2023.
Due to bus driver being sick, 166 will not be running the rest of the week. Students that ride 166 can meet Jr. Mullins bus 165 at the intersection of Big ugly Creek Rd and Greenshoal Intersection at 6:45 am and 3:10 pm.. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause as they try to cover vacant bus runs.
***Due to pending weather forecast and safety concerns, Lincoln County Schools will be releasing students on a 2 hours early today, March 3rd, 2023

The students that ride Bus 166 can meet Bus 165 at the Big Ugly Creek and Greenshoals intersection at 1:10 PM. The students that ride Bus 2121 will need to a parent/guardian to pick them up today. We apologize for the inconvenience and for the late notice.

For Duval and LCHS - The DOH has completed road repairs on Left Fork Road in the Alkol area and Bus 163 will be running the normal route.
For Harts PK-8 - The DOH has completed road repairs on Low Gap in the Harts area and Bus 163 will be running the normal route.
Due to the recent flooding, Bus 2122 will not be running Low Gap in the Harts Area until further notice. The students can meet Bus 2122 at the intersection of Low Gap Road and East Fork Road at 6:30 AM for morning pick up and 3:00 PM for evening drop off. We will be assessing this road daily and will begin running it as soon as it is safe.
This is a reminder that Monday, February 20, is a professional learning day. Students will not report.
